nickname x The Buffalo Bills clinched the No. 2 seed in the 2024 AFC playoff picture with their dominant win over the New York Jets on Sunday, meaning the Pittsburgh Steelers cannot face them in the first round of the postseason. The only way the Steelers could have played the Bills was if the Baltimore Ravens passed them for the No. 2 seed. The Bills would’ve had to lose their final two games and the Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns in Week 18 for that to happen. But Buffalo was demonstrative in defeating the Jets, torching their AFC East foes to the tune a 40-18 victory at Highmark Stadium . The Steelers will host the Cincinnati Bengals for their Week 18 game next week, and depending on the results of that game and a few others, they can still finish as the third, fifth or sixth seed, and play three different opponents in the first round of the playoffs. The three games that mean the most to the Steelers will be their game against the Bengals, the Cleveland Browns at the Baltimore Ravens, and the Los Angeles Chargers at the Las Vegas Raiders. If the Steelers beat the Bengals, the only other game that will matter to them is the Browns and Raves. If the Steelers beat the Bengals and the Browns upset the Ravens, the Steelers will win the AFC North and host the Chargers in the first round. If the Ravens beat Cleveland, the Steelers will be the fifth seed and travel to face the Houston Texans in the first round. If the Steelers lose to the Bengals, then it’s the Chargers-Raiders game that matters to Pittsburgh. A Pittsburgh loss and a Chargers loss once again sends the Steelers to Houston in the Wild Card round. But a Steelers loss and L.A. win moves Pittsburgh to the No. 6 seed, where they’d likely visit the Ravens. Here’s the full breakdown of possibilities: PIT win + BAL loss = No. 3 seed vs. LAC PIT win + BAL win = No. 5 seed at HOU PIT loss + LAC loss = No. 5 seed at HOU PIT loss + LAC win = No. 6 seed at BAL The Steelers beat the Los Angeles Chargers at Acrisure Stadium once already this season, a 20-10 win on Sept. 21 . They split two games with the Ravens, winning 18-16 at home on Nov. 17 , but losing 34-17 on Dec. 21 in Baltimore in a game that could have clinched the AFC North for Pittsburgh. That loss snapped a four-game Steelers winning streak against the Ravens. They have won eight of the last 10 games between the teams. The Steelers did not play the Texans or Bills this season, but lost 31-17 to Buffalo in the Wild Card round last January and were soundly beaten, 30-6, by the Texans in Week 4 of last season. STEELERS IN AFC PLAYOFF PICTURE 1. Kansas City Chiefs 15-1 2. Buffalo Bills 12-3 3. Baltimore Ravens 11-5 4. Houston Texans 9-7 – 5. Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6 6. Los Angeles Chargers 10-6 7. Price Over Earnings Overview: Core Molding TechnologiesIn a message to the American people, the King expressed “great sadness” at the news of Mr Carter’s death, describing him as “a committed public servant” who “devoted his life to promoting peace and human rights”. He added: “His dedication and humility served as an inspiration to many, and I remember with great fondness his visit to the United Kingdom in 1977. “My thoughts and prayers are with President Carter’s family and the American people at this time.” Mr Carter, a former peanut farmer, served one term in the White House between 1977 and 1981 and spent his post-presidency years as a global humanitarian, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. Sir Keir Starmer said Mr Carter had “lived his values in the service of others to the very end” through “decades of selfless public service”. Praising a “lifelong dedication to peace” that saw him win the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, Sir Keir added: “Motivated by his strong faith and values, President Carter redefined the post-presidency with a remarkable commitment to social justice and human rights at home and abroad.” Tributes to Mr Carter followed the announcement of his death by his family on Sunday, more than a year after he decided to enter hospice care. His son, Chip Carter, said: “My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights, and unselfish love.” Very sorry to hear of President Carter’s passing. I pay tribute to his decades of selfless public service. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. pic.twitter.com/IaKmZcteb1 — Keir Starmer (@Keir_Starmer) December 29, 2024 US President Joe Biden, one of the first elected politicians to endorse Mr Carter’s bid for the presidency in 1976, said the world had “lost an extraordinary leader, statesman and humanitarian”. He said: “Over six decades, we had the honour of calling Jimmy Carter a dear friend. But, what’s extraordinary about Jimmy Carter, though, is that millions of people throughout America and the world who never met him thought of him as a dear friend as well. “With his compassion and moral clarity, he worked to eradicate disease, forge peace, advance civil rights and human rights, promote free and fair elections, house the homeless, and always advocate for the least among us.” Vice President Kamala Harris said Mr Carter “reminded our nation and the world that there is strength in decency and compassion”. “His life and legacy continue to inspire me — and will inspire generations to come,” she said. “Our world is a better place because of President Carter.” Other UK politicians also paid tribute to Mr Carter. Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey said he was “an inspiration” who “led a truly remarkable life dedicated to public service with a genuine care for people”. Scottish First Minister John Swinney described the former president as “a good, decent, honest man who strove for peace in all that he did”, while Welsh First Minister said he was “a remarkable man” and “a humanitarian and scholar”. Former prime minister Sir Tony Blair said Mr Carter’s “life was a testament to public service”. He added: “I always had the greatest respect for him, his spirit and his dedication. He fundamentally cared and consistently toiled to help those in need.” Gordon Brown, another former prime minister, said it was a “privilege” to have known Mr Carter, who “will be mourned, not just in America, but in every continent where human rights are valued”. Mr Carter is expected to receive a state funeral featuring public observances in Atlanta, Georgia, and Washington DC before being buried in his hometown of Plains, Georgia. A moderate democrat born in Plains in October 1924, Mr Carter’s political career took him from the Georgia state senate to the state governorship and, finally, the White House, where he took office as 39th president in the wake of the Watergate scandal and the Vietnam War. His presidency saw economic disruption amid volatile oil prices, along with social tensions at home and challenges abroad including the Iranian revolution that sparked a 444-day hostage crisis at the US embassy in Tehran. But he also brokered the Camp David Accords between Egypt and Israel, which led to a peace treaty between the two countries in 1979. After his defeat in the 1980 presidential election, he worked more than four decades leading The Carter Centre, which he and his late wife Rosalynn co-founded in 1982 to “wage peace, fight disease, and build hope”. Under his leadership, the Carter Center virtually eliminated Guinea Worm disease, which has gone from affecting 3.5 million people in Africa and Asia in 1986 to just 14 in 2023. Mrs Carter, who died last year aged 96, had played a more active role in her husband’s presidency than previous first ladies, with Mr Carter saying she had been “my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished”. Earlier this year, on his 100th birthday, Mr Carter received a private congratulatory message from the King, expressing admiration for his life of public service

No. 2 UConn falls again in Maui, losing 73-72 to Colorado on Jakimovski's off-balance layupA McDonald's Corp MCD restaurant in Pennsylvania became the location of a police arrest for the suspect now charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The arrest, which came from customers and employees recognizing suspect Luigi Mangione from surveillance photos released by New York City police, has some people upset that police were called. What Happened: Mangione has been charged with the death of Thompson, the CEO Of UnitedHealthcare, a unit of UnitedHealth Group UNH . His arrest came after a McDonald's employee called police as patrons recognized the suspect, which led to his arrest. With a potential motive for the murder of Thompson being related to the high cost of insurance premiums and high rate of insurance claim denials, the insurance sector is seeing an increased spotlight that has also made some sympathetic to whoever completed the murder. Some who were upset with the handling of Mangione being arrested at the McDonald's used the power of the internet and social media reviews to take down the Pennsylvania restaurant location. A large amount of one-star reviews began popping up on Google for the Pennsylvania McDonald's, as reported by the New York Post. Google, which is a unit of Alphabet Inc GOOG GOOGL removed one-star reviews. "These reviews violate our policies and are being removed," a Google spokesperson told The New York Post. While many of the one-star reviews, which are part of a process known as "review bombing" had been removed, the news outlet found several still remained. "More like Narc-donalds...I hope obesity and heart disease are in-network in PA," one review said. Review company Yelp Inc YELP also saw a rush of new reviews on the Pennsylvania McDonald's and put a warning on the location's page that said "Unusual Activity Alert." Here are some of the reviews left on Yelp for the McDonald's location: "Avoid this McDonald's location, they're out of your network. The food will send you to an early grave and no health insurance will cover that — they're in the business of denials." "Major rat problem in this most anti-American establishment. Never going to eat here again." "The staff was rude and they called the police on my friend Luigi. There were rats everywhere." "One of the employees told me because I'm poor I don't deserve healthcare." "Horrible service and the patrons today were McSnitches. Home they McStitches and their insurance doesn't pay for it." Read Also: McDonald’s Where Trump Worked Review-Bombed On Yelp: ‘Fries Too Salty As If Someone Who Lost A Major Election Had Been Crying Over Them’ Why It's Important: The Pennsylvania McDonald's had private security at the location Tuesday as it saw an increased influx of customers and media. Regulars at the location thought Mangione looked familiar and their conversation heard by an employee prompted the employee to call police. "A guy came in the door, and I didn't really look at him, I thought everyone was kidding around. The one guy said, ‘That looks like the shooter from New York,'" a witness named Larry told CBS News. The employee recognized Mangione while taking his order, according to the report. McDonald's workers have said they are worried about their safety after Mangione's arrest. The Altoona Police Department, which arrested Mangione, has also received death threats, according to the report. The sympathy that has shifted towards Mangione since his arrest comes with his social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook, which are owned by Meta Platforms Inc META being shut down . YouTube also deleted several channels linked to Mangione. An account linked to Mangione on X, a social media platform owned by Elon Musk , was shut down before being reinstated as Musk said he was "looking into it." Mangione's account on X went from having under 1,000 followers to more than 300,000 at the time of writing. The last post made by Mangione was a retweet in June 2024 with his last original post made on May 14, 2024. The May 14, 2024 post, now having millions of impressions, was centered on cellular agriculture and mentioned the company Agronomics Ltd. AGNMF , a penny stock that has seen a sizable boost to its share price this week. The X account for Mangione was unverified on Monday, but is now verified Tuesday with users questioning who paid for or approved of the blue check and asking if the suspect will receive revenue similar to other accounts on the platform. A meme coin called Luigi was also launched and saw sizable action on Monday and Tuesday. Users have also flocked to the GoodReads account reportedly belonging to Mangione. The profile features a reading history of books on back pain and a four-star review of the manifesto of Ted Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber. GoodReads, which is owned by Amazon.com Inc AMZN could end up a potential winner in the increased traffic related to Mangione on the site. A medical examiner’s report said he suffered “multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.” Police said previously he was found around 4 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot at Los Angeles International Airport. Kobayashi, 58, had been in the city for 13 days in search of his 31-year-old daughter, Hannah, who mysteriously disappeared after missing a layover at LAX earlier this month. Hannah’s aunt, Larie Pidgeon, told the Daily Beast on Monday that Kobayashi had gone as far as searching for his child in the city’s seediest areas, like Skid Row. After many sleepless nights while contending with the agony of the situation, however, Pidgeon told the Beast that Ryan “couldn’t take it” anymore and died of a “broken heart.” Pidgeon was emphatic that Ryan’s death didn’t involve foul play and police have since confirmed that to be true. The LAPD have yet to release a significant update on Hannah’s case, but Pidgeon said detectives told her Monday they believe Hannah is still in LA. A 6-foot-2, 360-pound man is suing a New York City library for $4.6 million after he said he was forced to sit at a desk too small for him. William Martin alleged that he suffered emotional distress at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library when he was intentionally assigned the desk and his complaints were ignored in order to show him “who was boss,” according to The Independent . In a lawsuit filed earlier this month, Martin said that he “requested a service desk with the appropriate and necessary accommodations, such as sufficient leg room and even countertop” as early as October 2021. However, the higher-ups at the library refused to intervene. After he again raised the complaint in June 2023, Martin said that a supervisor rearranged the July schedule to “dramatically increase” the time he spent at the desk. “Thus, the SNFL apparently retaliated by forcing William to do exactly the one thing he knew detrimental to his health and safety,” according to Martin’s complaint. Martin, who is suing for workplace harassment and discrimination, said that being made to work at the desk had led him to develop anxiety and depression. Donald Trump was caught on camera offering to buy a young girl’s hair in a cringe-worthy encounter at his golf course in Palm Beach, Florida. The president-elect was driving his golf cart when he spotted the girl. “Oh I love that hair! I want her hair! Can I buy your hair? I’ll pay you millions for it,” he said. Trump then invited her to sit next to him and take a photo. The girl smiled while Trump did his signature thumbs up for the picture. “That’s amazing,” an onlooker said. “You can say you were with the president, and you played golf with him.” As Trump patted the girl goodbye and she hopped off the cart, the same onlooker said, “say, ‘Thank you, Mr. President.’” The same golf course was the site of an attempted assassination on the president-elect in September. Lauren Boebert took down her Cameo page on Monday amid questions about whether it could violate House Ethics Committee rules. Boebert became the first sitting representative of Congress to join the video message platform earlier that day, following the footsteps of disgraced former Reps. Matt Gaetz and George Santos, who both charge hundreds of dollars on Cameo for personalized videos. While House Ethics rules allow for members to make $31,815 outside of their role in Congress, they aren’t allowed to receive “a payment of money or a thing of value for an appearance, speech, or article.’” While it’s untested how this rule applies to Cameo, Boebert likely doesn’t want to be the one to find out. The embattled Republican rep has been at the center of several controversies since joining Congress in 2020. Her more notable incidents include vaping and being disruptive during a performance of Beetlejuice , and live-tweeting Nancy Pelosi’s movements during Jan. 6. She’s also been fined by the Ethics Committee for refusing to wear a mask on the House floor. YouTuber MrBeast said allegations that contestants were mistreated on his Amazon Prime game show were “blown out of proportion.” The influencer, real name Jimmy Donaldson, and Amazon were hit with a class action lawsuit earlier this year that alleged Beast Games contestants were subjected to “unreasonable, unsafe, and unlawful employment conditions.” The suit contains allegations that some contestants were hospitalized and others endured sexual harassment on set. “We have tons of behind the scenes [footage] dropping when the show does to show how blown out of proportion these claims were,” MrBeast tweeted Monday. “Just can’t release it now because it would spoil the games.” He released a trailer for the show, which features 1,000 people in a series of challenges for a $5 million prize. Earlier this month, the online influencer’s company disclosed it had fired 10 employees after an third-party investigation into workplace culture substantiated some harassment and misconduct allegations. The probe found no evidence to support sexual misconduct. We have tons of behind the scenes dropping when the show does to show how blown out of proportion these claims were. Just can’t release it now because it would spoil the games. During a segment Monday night celebrating a judge’s dismissal of special prosecutor Jack Smith ’s election interference case against President-elect Donald Trump , Fox News host Laura Ingraham turned to the election racketeering charges brought against Trump in Georgia. As she discussed Fani Willis , the prosecutor in the Georgia case, a photo of New York state Attorney General Letitia James appeared on the screen. Both women are Black. Minutes later, The Ingraham Angle host sought to “explain” the mixup. “Earlier we accidentally showed a graphic that had a photo of another vicious anti-Trump figure, Letitia James, when we were talking about Fani Willis,” Ingraham said. “That was our mistake. They both hate Trump.” James brought a civil suit against Trump and the Trump Organization that resulted in a $450 million judgment, which Trump’s lawyers have appealed. Social media users were quick to argue the fraud case probably wasn’t the source of Ingraham’s confusion. Earlier this year, she mixed up attorneys Nathan Wade and Terrence Bradley, both Black men connected to Willis. “We made a mistake, and we are sorry for that,” Ingraham said at the time. Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, and her legal team, wrote in court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun that Williams “has been afflicted by early-onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.” The revelation came amid an ongoing legal battle over the Lifetime series Where is Wendy Williams? , a documentary that showed the former TV host dealing with alcohol addiction, alongside health and financial issues. Past court documents claimed that the series exploited Williams, and said that she did not have the ability to consent to the series due to her health ailments. The new filing asked for information of her “health, familial relationships, and finances” to be redacted in an effort of privacy, according to the outlet. Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia in 2023, revealing her health conditions publicly earlier this year. Bird flu has been found in raw milk in California, state regulators said Sunday, prompting a recall. Raw milk with a “best by” date of Nov. 27 from Raw Farm, which is in Fresno County, is being pulled from shelves, and consumers who already bought some are being told by the California Department of Public Health not to drink it. “Public health experts have long warned consumers against consuming raw milk or raw milk products due to elevated risks of foodborne illness,” the state health agency said . “Drinking or accidentally inhaling raw milk containing bird flu virus may lead to illness. In addition, touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands after touching raw milk with bird flu virus may also lead to infection.” Pasteurized milk kills bacteria and viruses like E. coli, listeria, and H5N1, otherwise known as bird flu. And yet an emerging trend is seeing rising demands for raw milk. Among its proponents is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. , whom Donald Trump named to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. A vaccine skeptic, Kennedy also wants to remove fluoride from public water, even though it has been shown to prevent tooth decay. Scouted selects products independently. President-elect Donald Trump has come out swinging at Mexico and Canada before he’s even taken his seat back in the Oval Office—but the country’s neighbors to the south aren’t taking his threats lying down. Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum responded harshly after Trump announced Monday that goods that enter the U.S. from her country and Canada would be subject to 25 percent tariffs. Warning that Mexico could retaliate with its own tariffs, she said, “One tariff would be followed by another in response, and so on until we put at risk common businesses.” Trump has claimed the tariffs are necessary to encourage both countries to stop the influx of drugs and migrants at the border. But Sheinbaum shot back at his reasoning, saying the flow of drugs “is a problem of public health and consumption in your country’s society.” A Trump-endorsed guitar company was given a cease and desist order from Gibson, who accused it of infringing on its trademarks, “particularly the iconic Les Paul body shape.” Gibson confirmed the order to 16 Creative in a statement Monday to Guitar World . The website for Trump Guitars lists for sale an “American Eagle Series” with the campaign slogan “Make America Great Again” on the neck of the guitar. President-elect Donald Trump promised during his reelection campaign that he would declassify all of the remaining government records surrounding the assassination if he returned to office. He made a similar pledge during his first term, but ultimately bended to appeals from the CIA and FBI to keep some documents withheld. At this point, only a few thousand of the millions of governmental records related to the assassination have yet to be fully released, and those who have studied the records released so far say that even if the remaining files are declassified, the public shouldn't anticipate any earth-shattering revelations. “Anybody waiting for a smoking gun that’s going to turn this case upside down will be sorely disappointed,” said Gerald Posner, author of “Case Closed,” which concludes that assassin Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Friday's 61st anniversary is expected to be marked with a moment of silence at 12:30 p.m. in Dealey Plaza, where Kennedy's motorcade was passing through when he was fatally shot. And throughout this week there have been events marking the anniversary. When Air Force One carrying Kennedy and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy touched down in Dallas , they were greeted by a clear sky and enthusiastic crowds. With a reelection campaign on the horizon the next year, they had gone to Texas on political fence-mending trip. But as the motorcade was finishing its parade route downtown, shots rang out from the Texas School Book Depository building. Police arrested 24-year-old Oswald and, two days later, nightclub owner Jack Ruby fatally shot Oswald during a jail transfer. A year after the assassination, the Warren Commission, which President Lyndon B. Johnson established to investigate the assassination, concluded that Oswald acted alone and there was no evidence of a conspiracy. But that hasn't quelled a web of alternative theories over the decades. In the early 1990s, the federal government mandated that all assassination-related documents be housed in a single collection in the National Archives and Records Administration. The collection of over 5 million records was required to be opened by 2017, barring any exemptions designated by the president. Trump, who took office for his first term in 2017, had boasted that he'd allow the release of all of the remaining records but ended up holding some back because of what he called the potential harm to national security. And while files have continued to be released during President Joe Biden's administration, some still remain unseen. The documents released over the last few years offer details on the way intelligence services operated at the time, and include CIA cables and memos discussing visits by Oswald to the Soviet and Cuban embassies during a trip to Mexico City just weeks before the assassination. The former Marine had previously defected to the Soviet Union before returning home to Texas. Mark S. Zaid, a national security attorney in Washington, said what's been released so far has contributed to the understanding of the time period, giving “a great picture” of what was happening during the Cold War and the activities of the CIA. Posner estimates that there are still about 3,000 to 4,000 documents in the collection that haven’t yet been fully released. Of those documents, some are still completely redacted while others just have small redactions, like someone's Social Security number. There are about 500 documents where all the information is redacted, Posner said, and those include Oswald's and Ruby’s tax returns. “If you have been following it, as I have and others have, you sort of are zeroed in on the pages you think might provide some additional information for history,” Posner said. Trump's transition team hasn’t responded to questions this week about his plans when he takes office. From the start, there were those who believed there had to be more to the story than just Oswald acting alone, said Stephen Fagin, curator of the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, which tells the story of the assassination from the building where Oswald made his sniper's perch. “People want to make sense of this and they want to find the solution that fits the crime," said Fagin, who said that while there are lingering questions, law enforcement made “a pretty compelling case” against Oswald. Larry J. Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, said his interest in the assassination dates back to the event itself, when he was a child. “It just seemed so fantastical that one very disturbed individual could end up pulling off the crime of the century," Sabato said. “But the more I studied it, the more I realized that is a very possible, maybe even probable in my view, hypothesis.”Student engineers build and race off-road vehicles at Rowan University

I ditched my best friend's wedding because I had work and she refused to change the date: 'I was maid of honour... I cut up my dress' A young woman has stood her friend up on her wedding day READ MORE: My friend dumped me after her hens over one mistake By BELINDA CLEARY FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA Published: 23:27 GMT, 10 December 2024 | Updated: 23:50 GMT, 10 December 2024 e-mail 23 shares 1 View comments A young woman has revealed how she ditched her best friend's wedding and opportunity to be maid of honour for a work function. Amy Dickinson, from Queensland , said she was super excited about her childhood friend's wedding - and eagerly began planning with her. They shopped for dresses, discussed venues and various decorations. That was, until the invitation arrived in the mail and Amy realised it clashed with a work event. The glamorous blonde took to TikTok with the story, and explained she couldn't change her work event and her friend refused to change the wedding date. So, she cut up the dress and sent it back in six pieces with the formal invitation. Speaking to FEMAIL, Amy said she has now blocked her friend from being able to contact her on any platform - throwing away a friendship which began in year one and lasted for more than 20 years. At first glance Amy is the villain in this story - but as it unfolds she begins to win people over. She explained her friend, who she considered a bonus sister, had always been a little jealous of her, trying to knock her down a notch at every opportunity. Amy Dickinson from Queensland said she was super excited about her childhood friend's wedding - and began planning it with her 'We would go shopping and something would look amazing and she would screw her face up and say she hates it - but then something would look awful and she would say to buy it,' Amy said. She added that she and her friend had always dreamed of going into business together - but none of their ideas really made it beyond their chats. This is an important detail because Amy believes her friend is jealous of what happened next. She and her sister ended up coming up with a business venture dubbed 'the Social Summit' - a conference for TikTokkers and business-minded creators. Amy and her sister planned the event for February 6, 2025 and she couldn't wait to reveal the business idea to her friend. When she did, her friend's reaction was flat. 'She wasn't excited for me and I could tell she was almost p***ed off,' Amy said. Her friend then said she didn't know if she would be available on February 6. Amy, confused, asked why. Amy said she was confused by the drama and has blocked her friend Her friend said she had been thinking about the day as her wedding date. This took Amy by surprise as her friend wasn't even engaged at that point. 'As time went on every time I brought up the business my friend had nothing positive to say,' she said. Fast forward a few months to September and her friend called to reveal her partner had finally proposed. 'I am so excited for her, she asked me to be her maid of honour and I said yes. We started shopping for dresses together, organised the guest list, picked the colour scheme... and then it came to the date. 'She was insistent that she has to get married in February. I said to her - as you know the only date I can't do is 6th Feb, 2025. She would roll her eyes.' Her friend went on to find the perfect venue - but called Amy to let her know it was only available on February 6. Read More My friend dumped me and uninvited me from her lavish wedding after I broke an unspoken 'hen's night rule' - I haven't heard from her since Amy explained that she had already booked her own work event in, negotiated speakers and started selling tickets. She said she felt 'horrible' because she wanted to be there for her friend on her big day, but couldn't abandon her commitments. Then her friend called and said the venue had found another date. 'I was like oh my God - it feels like everything is back on track with my best friend we are both so excited for her big day,' she said. The the invite arrived. The 6th of February. So Amy called her friend who told her the venue had made a mistake and the first Thursday of the month was the only available date. 'I was so p***ed off by that point. I just said "it sounds like so much fun, it is such a shame I won't be able to make it",' Amy said. Her friend was furious. 'She said "What do you mean you won't make it?",' Amy said. Amy reminded her that the business event she had been working on for a year was on the same day. 'She said "How could you do this to me, you are my maid of honour. You are really going to put some business before our friendship. You are like my sister. And I have already paid for your dress",' Amy recalled. 'I said to her "That's fine you can have the dress back"... the dress was fugly anyway. 'I then proceeded to cut that dress into six pieces and mail it to her.' The friendship doesn't appear salvageable and dozens of people have warned Amy against tryingt to make amends. 'You did nothing wrong, actually you need to walk away from this friendship,' one woman said. The friendship doesn't appear salvageable. And dozens of people have warned Amy against trying to make amends 'You definitely need to reconsider this friendship and boundaries. She doesn't sound like your best friend. Best friend and longest friend are different,' said another. Others said there is only one way to work out if it is really time to ditch the friend. 'Call the venue and check availability in February,' one woman said. Some people didn't even make it that far into the story. 'I lost it at she wasn't even engaged,' one woman said. Another shared her devastating best friend wedding story. 'My "best friend" decided to have her wedding ON MY BIRTHDAY and I found out through TikTok after she posted a video of the final lineup that I was not one of her 12 bridesmaids,' she wrote. Others asked if the story was made up in order to promote the event. Amy told FEMAIL she's thrilled people think she is 'that clever' but the story is true.
